Tattoo Removal

Suitable for most adults wishing to fade or fully remove a tattoo. The PicoSure is effective across a broad spectrum of ink colours. Darker inks (black, dark blue) respond most quickly. Difficult colours such as green, teal, and yellow — which resist older lasers — are addressed more effectively by the PicoSure. Coloured, layered, and previously treated tattoos can all be assessed. Tanned skin requires a waiting period before treatment. A patch test and consultation are required before the first session

Topical anaesthetic is applied before treatment. Protective eyewear is worn throughout. The PicoSure handpiece passes over the tattoo, delivering picosecond pulses that shatter ink particles via photoacoustic (pressure wave) energy rather than heat — causing far less collateral tissue damage than older thermal lasers. A frosting (whitening) of the skin indicates the immune response has been triggered. Sessions take 15–60 minutes depending on tattoo size. Pre: Avoid sun exposure and fake tan for 4 weeks before each session. Clean, product-free skin. Avoid blood thinners and anti-inflammatories for 3 days prior. Topical anaesthetic can be self-applied 45–60 mins before for extra comfort. Post: Apply prescribed soothing ointment 2–3x daily for the first week. Keep area clean and dry — no submersion in water for 7 days. A blister may form — do not pop it. Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for 8 weeks between sessions.
